Hello everybody! I just wanted to pop in and introduce myself. My name is Jared (in-game Ferna) I am from Portland, Oregon. Fern is my mothers middle name and I thought that would be a great name for my character... somehow an "A" got thrown in at character creation and since I really liked my toon I decided to just keep it.

My mmo experience comes mostly from World of Warcraft where I played from very early beta all the way to the end of Burning Crusade. I enjoyed every aspect of end game content including one of the most fun and difficult instances "Naxramus!" (Pre-BC) I also experienced an incredible time in the pvp world of Wow. Being on Tichondrius PVP was amazing to say the least. I also played SWG for a long period of time. I was in the guild <RAID> on the server Naritus.

I am 31 years old and have been a gameaholic since I could remember. My favoritee franchise is Final Fantasy, whose isn't ;o) I work a full time job, roughly 50+ hours a week, I am obsessed with the gym, and I have an incredible girlfriend and family. I sometimes wonder how I put as much time into this game as I do... I am the type of person who will help with whatever is necessary so please never hesitate to ask me if you see me online. I have 2 sets of gear for both pve dps / pve tanking and pvp dps / pvp tanking.

I have messed around with a few raw dps builds and I find this to be pretty solid strictly for pve.

That was actually my old DPS spec as well. I was just curious of you tried out something different. Seems like everyone is give or take exactly like that.

Yea, this is very similar to the spec I use, just a couple changes here and there, but overall about the same.

Not gonna lie I really like focus dps for pvp. I'd change it up a little and even try one for PvE. I'll make one tonight when I get home and post it.

6 second cooldown on Overhead slash seems pretty awesome. My only fear is the focus generation...

Focus is amazing in PvP, though so is Vigilance. It all depends on how you want to play. Focus takes a bit of prepping before you go kaboom and it's more of a rinse and repeat cycle. Vigilance has a bit more versatility when it comes to 1v1 and control/survivabilty... I switch about 2 or 3 times a week just to keep them both fresh.

Yes ill agree with that very much. Still tho 15 second CDs isn't that bad even compared to most other dps classes and spamming slash while CDs are up is pretty decent dps by itself. I'd say 2.4k crits every second. I'm actually gonna give it a try and see how I like it. I've only JUST started messing with the focus tree.

Rainbow I am going to do a bit of work on a new focus spec. I will be testing it throughout the next week and will keep you posted. I don't want to post it yet until I actually see the numbers in black and white but after spending a lot of time with torhead back and forth this and that I have come up with a pvp/pve spec for dps that I think will be incredible. Stay Tuned... (I loved that movie!)

Here is it. Now to put it plainly this is to me the "best" all around pvp/pve damage build you can have as a Guardian. It takes some time to mod your gear correctly but the payouts are huge! The hardest thing for me to do was to drop crit as a stat in my mind, Focus guardians do not need crit since our main goal is to get automatic crits due to felling blow.

I'll take some screenshots this week of warzones and hardmodes. Highlights so far include Force Statis ticks for 1184 and Force Sweeps for 6k plus regularly and dispatches for 4k plus. I still do not have everything modded and set up right so this can only get better. If you have any questions just ask.
